๐ŸŽค

Led engagement and coordination for the Coastal Flooding Community Science Project, a statewide initiative involving 27 Maine communities to improve understanding of coastal flooding and inform climate resilience planning. I promoted, planned, and delivered 12 public events and trainings to recruit volunteers and support data collection for the project.

Designed and led the Midnight Flood Crawl, a community event where volunteers monitored flooding at several monitoring sites throughout Portland while installing and photographing artwork by 6 local artists alongside the floodwaters. The event was featured on the front page of the Portland Press Herald.

๐ŸŽจ

Engaged and educated youth in climate resilience through 4 classroom visits, 4 community science workshops with Gateway Community Servicesโ€™ Community Youth Coaltion, a session for the Maine Maritime Museumโ€™s Green Teens program, participation in Cape Elizabeth STEAM Day, and mentorship of two Cape Elizabeth High School students during their Senior Transition Projects.

Delivered 4 public presentations on project work at the Maine Sustainability and Water Conference and at public libraries in Portland, Rockland, and Southwest Harbor.

๐Ÿ”จ

๐ŸŒฑ

I spearheaded two group projects (Climate-Resilient Plant Palette and Island Visitor Engagement), managing them from conception to completion by coordinating tasks, timelines, and collaboration among team members.

I helped design four group projects and carry them to completion: Salt Marsh Monitoring, Building Energy Efficiency, Climate Education, and the Lighthouse Webcam Educational Tool.

โšก

As a member of the inaugural cohort, I helped build the program from the ground up. I designed projects, established workflows, and helped build a network of practice to support program growth, all while carrying out project work for proof of concept.

I designed and executed an independent project evaluating habitat suitability for rare plant species Sea Beach Dock on the Boston Harbor Islands. I evaluated 56 potential planting sites across 8 islands to identify optimal locations, and compiled findings and recommendations into a professional report for park management.

Museum Educator

The Tech Interactive

๐Ÿ’ก

I delivered 90-minute interactive science lessons for 3rdโ€“8th grade students visiting the museum on field trips. Topics ranged from the physics of roller coasters to earthquake engineering to chemical innovation.

Research Assistant

Stanford University

๐Ÿงช

I came up with a project to investigate harmful algal bloom species composition, designing and executing the experimental protocol myself.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

I conducted growth assays to elucidate the nutrient and light requirements of a thermophilic bacterium.

๐ŸŒณ

I assisted the lab PI in delivering the undergraduate course Partner with Trees, developing class activities and producing an overview video highlighting course content.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ

I designed the lab website using Squarespace.
